The Firrenes (originals rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland) looking fine!

Proper songs,
performed properly

The Firrenes (it rhymes with "beans") are a melodic, song-based rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland, performing original material. The band's principal songwriter is Jules Reed (aka composer Julian Wagstaff), with additional contributions from Walt Cumming. The band's musical style is eclectic and varied, with influences ranging from 70's rock, Americana, blues and R&B through to indie, alt rock, art pop and classical.

The band was launched on 3 November 2016 in the Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh, Scotland.

NEWS UPDATE - 14 August 2024

The Firrenes are currently taking an indeterminate break from writing, rehearsing, recording and touring. We'd like to say a huge "thank you" to everyone who turned out to see us in Scotland, England and Germany since we launched at Edinburgh's Voodoo Rooms back in 2016. To everyone who travelled long distances, braved storms and arctic conditions to see us, queued for tickets, bought our records and tee-shirts, liked our Facebook posts, downloaded and streamed our music, we'd like to say a huge and heartfelt "thank you"! It's been quite a ride, and we wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Although we can't say exactly when we'll be back, we are certain this is not the end of The Firrenes. But until we tread the boards again, our music is always just a few clicks away. Just search The Firrenes, on Amazon, YouTube, Spotify and all other online channels. Or why not buy the CD or vinyl record direct from our own online store here? You can also stock up on tee-shirts and other merchandise too. Who knows, one day they might be collectors' items!

Eternal gratitude and love to everyone who has supported us and worked with us over the last 8 years. Until next time...

A good year for The Firrenes

2017 was a great year for the band. We successfully launched our first single, and enjoyed success with our Edinburgh and Berlin shows in October. Particular highlights were performing with MiNT at Zosch in Berlin, and welcoming Michael Eavis, founder of the Glastonbury Festival, to our Edinburgh gig. The Firrenes are now looking forward to completing our first album in May 2018, and to performing more widely within the UK. See the panels above for up-to-date gig information, which will be updated regularly.
